SEEKING A PHOTO OF AUNT CORA

With interest, I read the story, “Stone Family Women: A Continuum” (2013, issue 2). I am the son of Robert Stone Judge and the great-grandnephew of Cornelia Haddon Stone, Wesleyan class of 1897.  I remember “Aunt Cora,” as we called her, when I would see her in Clinton, Conn., when I was a child in the 1950s. She was a respected and beloved family member.

Cornelia’s niece, Amy Stone, also grew up in Middletown but she went to Mt. Holyoke in South Hadley, Mass., where she met my grandfather, Gerald A. Judge. He and two of his sons graduated from nearby Amherst College. However, I have always been interested in my Stone relatives and their strong connection to Wesleyan.

I do not have any photos that include Cornelia, so I write to ask you a favor. Would you be able to send me the photo of Cornelia and the “quails” of 1897, from your story? I would be most appreciative, of course!
