SCHOLAR ATHLETE

For Meaghan Dendy ’10, dedication to her studies, sports, and community cross all seasons. On the softball field, she was the Cardinal career record–holder for hits (188), runs scored (134), RBI (78), doubles (31), and pitching victories (39). She has served as a pitching and batting coach for Middletown girls, ages 11–15. She volunteered weekly as a tutor at Woodrow Wilson Middle School in Middletown. A double major in biology and neuroscience and behavior, she also served as a patient advocate at Community Health Center, in Middletown and Meriden, last winter. This fall, she will pursue a master’s degree in biotechnology at Columbia University, as well as work in a breast cancer research lab.
