GAME ON: 2021-22 Top Scholar-Athletes

The winners of the 2021-22 Ahrens and Hoagland Awards, honoring the top senior male and female student-athlete at Wesleyan, are Sam Peek ’22 of the men’s basketball team and Julia Meehan ’22 of women’s soccer.

Sam Peek ’22 became the first Cardinal in team history to earn NESCAC Player of the Year and First Team All-American honors while helping lead Wesleyan to the program’s second NESCAC Championship.

Julia Meehan ’22 became Wesleyan’s first-ever three-time Academic All-American and was named to the All-NESCAC First Team and Second Team All-Region, helping lift the Cardinals to a Final Four run in the program’s first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2021.
